Cops: Huntington Station Man Arrested for DUI in Connecticut Thought He Was in New York

The 74-year-old man was arrested in Monroe, Conn. Saturday night.

A Huntington Station man was arrested for driving under the influence after police say he was involved in a single vehicle crash on Saturday night in Monroe, Conn. 

According to police, a white Chevy pick-up struck a stone wall and a telephone pole and subsequently left the scene around 10 p.m.

Officers on patrol located the truck traveling in an erratic manner northbound on Route 25.

James Graham, 74, was the operator and lone occupant of the vehicle. The truck had fresh damage consistent with being in an accident, police said.

Officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Graham who was confused, believing he was two blocks from his house in New York, police said.

Graham failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane.

According to police, his BAC was .231.

He was given a $500 bond and a court date of May 12.
