Cops: Man Dies After One-Car Greenlawn Crash

A man died after a one-car crash in Greenlawn early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Suffolk County Police say a man was driving a 2009 Volkswagen westbound on Little Plains Road when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, a fence and two parked cars before overturning in front of 102 Little Plains Road at approximately 12:30 a.m.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of family, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
