Cops Seek Hit-and-Run Truck Driver
Police continue to look for a the driver of a truck that hit a car in Melville in June and then fled, officials said.

Suffolk County Police continue to seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the driver of a truck that struck a car in June and fled the scene, officials said Wednesday.
Police say that on Friday, June 27, at approximately 2:20 a.m., a 2002 Saturn was traveling north on Walt Whitman Road in Melville when it was struck by a construction tractor trailer that was heading west on Expressway Drive North. The driver of the truck fled the scene and was last seen merging onto the westbound side of the Long Island Expressway.
Three people in the Saturn suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The truck had a sign in the rear that read “Construction Vehicle Do Not Follow,” according to police.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
