Cops: Woman Drove Drunk with 3-year-old Son in Car

The New York City resident was driving in Huntington, police say.

A Manhattan resident drove while intoxicated with a 3-year-old boy in her car Monday night in Huntington, authorities said.

Suffolk County Police say Joanna Pagan, 32, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer west on the Long Island Expressway near Exit 49 North when she was pulled over by Highway Patrol Officer Thomas Joy for failing to maintain her lane of travel. Pagan had her 3-year-old son in the car with her.

Police determined that Pagan was under the influence of alcohol and arrested and charged her with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger, also known as Leandra’s Law; endangering the welfare of a child; and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, officials said.
