Here are the top three stories today in Huntington:

  1. Crab Meadow Beach to be renamed. The beach will be named after former Town of Huntington Supervisor Frank Patrone, who was instrumental in preservation of both the Crab Meadow Beach coastal wetland system and Crab Meadow Watershed. He served from 1997 through 2017. The ceremony will take place at the beach on Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. (Patch)
  2. As the real estate market cools down on Long Island, check out these five upcoming open houses. The homes range in price and by location throughout the town of Huntington. You can click on the photo of the home for more information about the listing and open house.(Huntington Patch)
  3. Syosset High School has astonishing 39 students named National Merit Semifinalists. The recognition goes to students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Less than 1 percent of students nationwide receive the accolade. Semifinalists who advance to the finals will be announced in early 2023. Learn more about the National Merit Program and see names of the students in the link! (Patch)
