Dog Shot During South Huntington Home Invasion: Police

BREAKING: Two masked men invaded a home Thursday night, police say.

SOUTH HUNTINGTON, NY - A dog was shot during a home invasion in South Huntington on Thursday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Two men wearing masks entered a home on Magerus Street and one of the men fired a shot through a bedroom door at 8:36 p.m., police said. A resident inside the home had run into the bedroom after the men entered the home.

The gunfire struck a dog inside the bedroom, police said. The resident was not injured.

The dog was transported to a veterinary hospital and is expected to survive.

The investigation is continuing. No arrests have been made.
