Donation Drive to Help Halesite Family Displaced by Fire

Clothing, bedding and other important living essentials are being collected.

A local church is collecting clothing, bedding and other important essentials for a Halesite family that was displaced by a Cove Road house fire Sunday.

A donation bin will be in the lobby of the Halesite Fire Department for people to drop off essential living items to assist this family.

All donated items will be transferred to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Huntington Station so they can distribute the items to the family.

The church will be collecting the following items:

  • Men’s clothing -xxl
  • Women’s clothing- 12/14
  • BOY’s clothing -4T and age appropriate toys, children’s books, etc
  • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, etc...)
  • two slice toaster
  • tall garbage can and garbage bags
  • measuring spoons & measuring cups
  • cooking utensils (egg flipper, large spoons etc)
  • baking dish
  • colander
  • cutting board
  • cooking pots and pans
  • cookie sheets
  • drinking glasses
  • tea kettle
  • iron
  • cordless phone
  • first aide kit
  • small fire extinguisher
  • wall clock
  • alarm clock
  • toilet brush and holder

Donations not included on this list are also welcomed. No donation is too small.

The Halesite Fire Department is located at 1 North New York Ave. in Halesite.

The drive ends Friday.
