Driver Without Interlock Device Strikes Woman in Huntington Station: Police
The crash occurred in the Target parking lot Wednesday night, police said.
A 24-year-old Huntington Station man was arrested for failing to have an interlock device in his vehicle after police said he struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in a Huntington Station parking lot Wednesday night.
According to authorities, Keylor Laporta was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 when he struck a 68-year old West Hills woman in the Target parking lot, located at 124 E. Jericho Turnpike, at 7:55 p.m.
The pedestrian was taken to Huntington Hospital to be treated for head injuries and was listed in serious condition.

Laporta, who was not injured from the crash, was arrested and charged with using a vehicle without an interlock device.
He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.

The pickup truck was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with additional information about this crash is asked to call Second Squad detectives at (631) 854-8252.
