HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A 40-year-old man was sentenced Friday to 40 years in prison for repeatedly sexually abusing his daughter and stepdaughter in Huntington Station, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney announced.
The defendant, a Honduran national, was convicted by a jury in September of course of sexual conduct in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said.

According to evidence presented at trial, the man began showing his stepdaughter pornographic videos when she was approximately 6 years old. In December 2020, shortly after her 10th birthday, he began sexually abusing her, prosecutors said.
The abuse continued through July 2021, according to the district attorney's office.

In early 2022, the girl's mother forced the man to leave the home after family members raised concerns about his behavior toward the child, prosecutors said.
Three years later, the man requested visits with his biological daughter, which the child's mother allowed, prosecutors said.
In April 2025, the man began sexually abusing his daughter, who was 10 years old at the time, during those visits, according to prosecutors.
The abuse continued until July 2025, when a family member discovered a diary entry written by the child describing what had happened, prosecutors said.
The family member alerted the child's mother, who contacted police. The man was arrested July 22, 2025.
On Sept. 24, a jury found the man guilty of one count of course of sexual conduct in the first degree, a class B violent felony; three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, class D violent felonies; and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
The trial was held before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen Wilutis.
The man was sentenced on Friday to 40 years in prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision, prosecutors said.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a detainer seeking custody of the man following completion of his prison sentence, according to the district attorney's office.
"Today, justice has been served, not only for these young victims, but for all children in our community who deserve to feel safe," Tierney said in a statement. "The defendant's actions were reprehensible, and the sentence reflects the gravity of the harm done to innocent children."
