Please join Councilwoman Susan A. Berland, the Huntington Town Board, the Suffolk County Water Authority, the Greenlawn Water District and the South Huntington Water District at a press conference to announce the Town of Huntington's Adopt a Hydrant program, in conjunction with Fire Prevention month.This voluntary program allows residents to officially "adopt" a hydrant of their choice on the Town of Huntington's website, http://HuntingtonNY.gov. Residents who wish to register may enter in any address within the Town of Huntington and the web page will show a listing of each hydrant in the neighborhood.Residents who "adopt" a hydrant are required to keep it clear of any debris, littler, foliage or snow that may hinder the ability of an emergency responder to access it.
