Huntington Independence Day

Renactment of the day the Declaration of Independence arrived and was read to the public in Huntington.  Events take place on the same Village Green as the original reading.  Colonial era encampment, demonstrations of period life skills including cooking, sewing, hornwork, music.  Musket and Cannon drills.  Children's drills. FREE.

The Declaration of Independence is read at 1:00 pm.  Discuss the politics and life of the time.  Do you think we should split from the the mother country?  Should we stay a colony?

Entertaining and fun and educational for children and adults.

The Arsenal, a colonial home used then and now by the Huntington Militia as headquarters has been newly restored and reopened and will be open for tours.  Also free
