Join us for a double bill of fine American music with Rough Folk and Prospect Street at Last Licks.
With interests and backgrounds in rock, folk, gospel, jazz, bluegrass and the blues, the nine members of Prospect Street are on their way to becoming Long Island's folk-rock "big" band. They put their own spin on songs by Johnny Cash, The Jayhawks, Patsy Cline, Nick Lowe, Leadbelly, Fistful of Mercy, and many others. The Prospect Street sound is rich with vocal harmony, the rhythm of the hand drum, the lonesome call of the harmonica and mandolin, and .... a little electricity!
If there was a "power" category for folk music, maybe they would be in it.
Prospect Street is: Alice Weiser, Rob Wheeler and Eileen Boyd on vocals, Dave Hubelbank and Phill LoFaso on guitar and vocals, Tim Sullivan on mandolin, harmonica, dobro and guitar, Gary Nielsen on lead guitar and vocals, Joel Snodgrass on percussion, and Leer Leary on bass.
