Youth Speak Out

Students in grades 6 through 12 are encouraged to share what's on their minds at the Youth Speak Out program at the Tri-CYA,  from 6:30-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 3.

Youth Speak Out, sponsored by Councilwoman Glenda Jackson, is a time for youth to speak up about what's on their minds, from peer pressure to drugs to violence to a need for more recreational opportunities.

Based on a survey, peer pressure was their number one concern. Many were concerned about violence in neighborhoods and many wrote about additional recreational activities they would like to see become available.
