  1. A Commack woman started a fundraiser for her father-in-law who lost everything in Hurricane Ian. Cynthia Trocchio created a GoFundMe earlier this week to help her father-in-law, Louie, who lives in Fort Myers. "His mobile home that he has called home for the last 10 years was completely destroyed," Trocchio wrote on the GoFundMe page. "Everything he worked for his whole life has been torn apart. Please help me show him how people care, by raising money to help the burden of losing everything. Thank you to all that donate and send prayers." Click the link to visit the GoFundMe page. (Patch)
  2. Check out the Fall Festival now through Monday at Heckscher Park. There will be food, games, contests, music and so much more. Click the link to see festival hours and a map so you know where your favorite vendors will be located! (Huntington Now)
  3. The town of Oyster Bay broke ground on a $1.59 million downtown Syosset project. The project will revitalize downtown and add pedestrian safety measures. "Improvements are on the way to downtown Syosset at a time when local businesses need it the most," said Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino. "From beautification of the downtown with a decorative clock, streetlights and benches to pedestrian safety improvements, we are enhancing the downtown business district for the benefit of young people, families and senior citizens."
