Family Gives New Name to Huntington Gynecologic Surgery Center in Mother's Memory

A local family wanted to give back to Huntington Gynecologic Surgery Center after their mother Jooanne Marzano, of Huntington, received care at the hospital.

Thanks to the donations of Frank, Danielle and Michael, along with their spouses, Jennifer, Jayson and Heather, the family will be able to help further the care of women.

To honor their mother, the center was named The Joanne Marzano Center for Gynecologic Surgery.

“Our mother would have been proud to have her name associated with the first-rate medical staff and technology in this center,” Frank Marzano said at a formal dedication to celebrate the naming of the Marzano Center.

“Jennifer and I are excited to share this with our family as Joanne was a special mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend to us all,” he said.

The gynecologic surgery center at Huntington Hospital is a Center for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology.

The Marzano Center will not only feature gynecologic surgeries, but it will also include advanced women’s health surgeries, such as reconstructive breast surgery for women with breast cancer.
