Firefighters Receive Ashes After Responding to Gas Leak at Greenlawn Church

Greenlawn Firefighters received their ashes right after responding to a gas leak at a Greenlawn church and on Ash Wednesday.

The responders inspected a gas leak at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, located at 29 Clay Pitts Road, and deemed the incident safe at 2:10 p.m.

Since they were already there, the priest distributed ashes and blessings to many of the responders, according to the Greenlawn Fire Department.

The fire department thanked St. Francis of Assisi Church for distributing the blessings.
