Frankie, Fabio, Francine: Huntington Adoptable Pets Of The Week
The "F Kittens" were rescued at a waste management facility.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Frankie, Fabio and Francine are the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter's Huntington Pets of the Week.
Frankie and Fabio were rescued at the waste management facility that handles the dumpster for the shelter, said Debbi Larkin, president of the shelter. There were quite a few cats
and kittens at the location but the wife and owner of the facility could only trap two of the kittens when they first set out, Larkin said. There is someone else working on getting all of the cats there vetted and spayed or neutered.
The boys, only about a month old at the time, were immediately placed in a foster home after being snap tested by the shelter's vet.

"We were not sure if they are siblings because there were so many at that location, but they were just fine with one another," Larkin said.
They were in a home with other felines and two cat-friendly dogs.

"A perfect location for them to learn all about inside life with other animals and humans," Larkin said. "Fabio is the shy one but warms up quickly. Frankie loves action packed playtime, and loved to torment one of the dogs when he tries to stick his nose in the cage to eat their food."
Francine arrived at the shelter door on a very busy Wednesday night — Wednesday is the shelter's weekly vet night — at the end of May after she wandered into the garage of someone who feeds some cats, according to Larkin.
"This little peanut either was dumped in the area or she got separated from her mom and siblings, if there were any," Larkin said. "After being snap tested by our vet she was sent to join Frankie and Fabio in the foster home. She was happily welcomed by the two boys and she was the ringleader when it came to investigating everything. And the minute you open the crate she is looking to get into your arms for a cuddle."
Frankie is a dark tabby with expressive eyes. Fabio is the lighter tiger/tabby with dark piercing eyes. Both boys have been totally vetted, tested negative for FELV and FIV, litter box trained and neutered.
Francine is a tabby with striking white fur on most of her body, has been totally vetted, tested negative for FELV and FIV, litter box trained and will be spayed on July 6. Then she will come into the shelter to be with her two bonded siblings and all of the other cats that are in the kitten room waiting to be adopted.

If you are interested in meeting Frankie, Fabio and Francine, you may call the shelter at 631-757-4517, email cats@laphuntington.org, visit the Facebook page or visit at the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter.
The rescue is at 3 Verleye Ave., East Northport, and visiting hours are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
"Although all three of these kittens have had a rough start you would never know it," Larkin said. "They try to get your attention to let you know they want to be adopted. Won’t you come take a look and give them a home, that is, if you can walk away from all of their beautiful eyes and antics?"
