Golden Tree Lit In Huntington For Children Living W/ Or Lost To Cancer
The tree, adorned in gold lights and gold ribbons donated by the Daniela Conte Foundation, will be lit every evening in September.

HUNTINGTON, NY — A tree was lit up gold in honor of children who are dealing with cancer or lost their lives to the disease, the Town of Huntington announced.
Supervisor Edmund J. Smyth and town officials were joined by Katia and Anthony Conte, of the Daniela Conte Foundation, as well as several families devastated by the loss of a child to cancer. They joined together to recognize Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month with a gold ribbon tree lighting outside Huntington Town Hall on Thursday.
The tree, adorned in gold lights and gold ribbons, was donated by the Daniela Conte Foundation. It will be lit every evening in September. The ribbons bear the names of children who have lost their battle with cancer and childhood cancer survivors, the town stated.

The Daniela Conte Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded by Anthony and Katia Conte of Dix Hills to honor the life of their daughter, Daniela Marie Conte. The foundation's mission is dedicated to fund research, find a cure for new, promising and less toxic treatments for childhood cancer with a particular interest in Rhabdomyosarcoma.
