Harborfields Business Students Win Emerging Leaders Contest

300 students participated in the Huntington Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce's 20th annual Emerging Leaders Business competition.

GREENLAWN, NY — Students from Harborfields High School recently won the Huntington Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce’s 20th annual Emerging Leaders Business competition at St. Joseph’s College, the school district announced.

More than 300 students participated in this competition – the first in-person Emerging Leaders contest in two years – from schools all over Long Island.

Students created innovative business presentations and offered their ideas to judges.

Guided by Business Department Coordinator Dr. Alison Matthews, students Jasmine Jiminez, Isabella Panzavecchia and Adam Vahling took first place in all the job interview categories.

Second place winners were Hunter Droskoski and Nahrahel Louis in the graphic design and branding category; Olivia Eusano and Charlotte Hasher in entrepreneurship; and Ivie Mergille in healthcare. Nabeeha Ilyas earned third place in entrepreneurship.
