Harborfields Musicians Spread Sounds Throughout Town
"Our students go above and beyond to spread good cheer this time of year," said jazz band conductor Dan Bilawsky.
GREENLAWN, NY — The Harborfields High School Music Department made its presence heard throughout the community as temperatures dipped and everyone's collective thoughts turned to the holidays, the school district announced in a news release.
The Harborfields High School Jazz Band, conducted by Dan Bilawsky, brought musical merriment to the Greenlawn Civic Association’s Treelighting at Harborfields Public Library.
"Our students go above and beyond to spread good cheer this time of year, truly exemplifying the very concept of ‘making seasons bright,’” Bilawsky said.

Members of the school’s Tri-M Music Honor Society, under the direction of adviser Allison Scilla, were ubiquitous, caroling at HACO’s Treelighting at Centerport United Methodist Church; singing to the season at the Centerport Treelighting, sponsored by the Centerport Fire Department; and winding their way through different neighborhoods to play for and serenade numerous senior citizens in the community in a collaborative venture with YDA.
Scilla praised her students.

"They give so freely of their time, energy and talents to share beautiful music with the broader Harborfields family," she said.
