Here are the top four stories in Huntington today:

  1. Hatch Of Huntington to offer dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. The longtime and very popular brunch spot announced they will be serving dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The menu will be called "Hatch After Dark" and serve a variety of comfort foods along with healthy options. (Huntington Patch)
  2. Huntington Holiday Spectacular moved back to Wall Street. Funding from Northwell Health made the move possible with much delight from local residents. You can see the statement from Town Supervisor Ed Smyth in the link. (Huntington Now)
  3. Remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole to continue into the day. Heavy rain and wind will continue well into the morning, and emergency crews are prepared for the cleanup. “We continue to monitor the track of the storm and are preparing accordingly,” said Michael Sullivan, vice president of Transmission and Distribution at PSEG Long Island. “PSEG Long Island will have personnel ready to assist our customers in the event of outages caused by the heavy rain and strong winds.” (Huntington Now)
  4. Ransomware attack shuts down Commack School District's main phone lines. It's just the latest in a series of cyberattacks in Suffolk County and the school district put out a statement after the attack Tuesday. "At this time, we have contacted Federal, State and Local authorities, including Homeland Security, and we are working closely with our Cyber Insurance carrier," said Brenda Lentsch, public relations director for the Commack School District. "Ransomware such as this is a criminal act, and an investigation is currently underway. There is no evidence at this time that any student or staff information has been accessed." (News 12 Bronx)
