  1. Huntington Commons to have three health-fitness shops. The shopping center boasts a brand-new look Sunday, with ShopRite opening after a long-anticipated wait from residents. CycleBar, GOLFTEC and iStretchPlus have all signed leases for Huntington Commons. We will keep you updated on opening dates. (Huntington Patch)
  2. The Dix Hills Fire Department recently held an open house. Guests got to see firefighters and EMS crews handle a car fire, use heavy rescue tools and battle a simulated structure blaze. Click the link to see photos from the open house. (Patch)
  3. Puppy stolen from a store in Huntington Station was recovered in Brooklyn. The Havanese puppy was stolen from Elmer's Pet Land on Tuesday and was found Wednesday with help and tips from the community, police said. No arrests have been made yet. (Huntington Patch)
