A line began forming in earnest Wednesday morning in front of Huntington’s Book Revue. They were there to see Hillary Clinton, who is signing copies of her new memoir “Hard Choices,” at a 6 p.m. event.
Kenny Mitchell of Garden City, however, arrived at 11 p.m. Tuesday, and said he took the first spot on line.

“It’s an opportunity to meet someone who makes a difference,” he said, noting that there are those who may disagree with some of her politics.
While the 2016 presidential race is not yet underway, a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday puts Clinton ahead of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, 50-42 percent among new New Jersey voters.

“If she’s elected, she’ll be the first woman president, and the first woman whose husband was also president,” Mitchell said.
The Book Revue, an independent bookshop, closed at 2 p.m. Wednesday in preparation for the event.
Before then, about 75 people were already on line, some holding up umbrellas to protect against the sun. There were already barricades on the street.
Attendees needed tickets for the event. The event was sold out, the Book Revue announced Wednesday morning on its Facebook page.
“It’s very well organized,” Mitchell said. “There are some very nice people here.”
Clinton is scheduled to sign books until 8 p.m. The Book Revue will reopen after the event.
