Here are the top 4 stories today in Huntington:
- First annual Great Pumpkin Dunkin Fundraiser to be held in Oyster Bay. In support of the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, the event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2. It will replace the popular "Polar Bear Plunge," giving people a different option who don't like jumping in the freezing cold water. (Patch)
- A girl waiting at bus stop on Hillwood and Pearwood drives was approached by a white woman in her 20s driving a minibus, asking her to get on the bus. A parent intervened and the woman left, and the school district said the minibus wasn't connected to any school service. Police and parents were notified. (Huntington Now)
- See upcoming open houses in the Huntington area. These open houses are planned within the next week, and the homes vary by town and price. Click the photo of the home to see more information on the listing. (Huntington Patch)
- Check out the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week, Oreo. She's a 2-year-old cat who had a rough three months hiding behind a wall in an empty apartment. She only came out to eat when kind neighbors would come to feed her. Click the link for more information on Oreo. (Patch)
