- Heavy storms leave 1,000 without power in Asharoken and Eatons Neck. Tuesday morning brought heavy rains and storms, but PSEG is not sure what caused the outages. Power was restored early Tuesday afternoon. (Patch)
- Melville family searching for Rottweiler that went missing from sitter's Huntington Station home. Honeybear, a 2-year-old, 120-pound Rottweiler, has been missing for over a week. There are photos of Honeybear and a contact number for the owners in the link. (Patch)
- Plainview diner to close after 50 years in business. The diner will close on Sept. 25 due to owner John Papavasilopoulos retiring. The restaurant opened in 1972 and has been a staple of the Plainview community. (News 12 Bronx)

- Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce: "The Huntington Chamber of Commerce is mourning the loss of a great man on this somber Tuesday.
