Izzo was assigned to the New York City Police Department’s 111th Precinct as a member of its Quality of Life Team, according to an online fundraiser organized in his honor. The page said he joined the department in December 2021 and was known as a "dedicated officer who cared deeply about his community."
The fundraiser describes Izzo as being survived by his mother, Sonia, his brother, Anthony, and his sister, Rose, and says the effort is intended to support his family with unexpected expenses during their time of grief.
