Huntington Police Blotter: 2 Men Steal Dresses, Jacket
ALSO: Two Stop & Shop employees were arrested in connection with purchasing lottery tickets after making fraudulent returns, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Feb. 26 through March 3.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- March 2: Mark Ghossn, 35, of Dix Hills, stole two Pokémon card cartons in Brentwood on Feb. 26, police said. Ghossn stole $3,050 worth of clothing from a Kohl's in Commack on March 1, police said. Ghossn was found in possession of a clear glass pipe in Dix Hills on March 2, police said. He was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree grand larceny, one count of petty larceny, and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- Feb. 28: Mikaella Deslien, 22, of Greenlawn, completed fraudulent returns of products while working as a Stop & Shop employee on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington between Jan. 10 and Feb. 24, police said. Deslien used the money to purchase lottery tickets, police said. She was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000.
- Feb. 28: Maggie Caputo, 25, of Huntington Station, completed fraudulent returns of products while working as a Stop & Shop employee on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington between Jan. 7 and Feb. 24, police said. Caputo used the money to purchase lottery tickets, police said. She was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny.
- Feb. 28: Mechael Benjamin, 44, of Great Neck, stole a pair of men's Ferragamo shoes from Saks Fifth Avenue in Huntington Station on Sept. 3, police said. Benjamin, while acting with another person, stole two dresses and a jacket from Saks Fifth Avenue in Huntington Station on Feb. 28, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny and petty larceny.
