Huntington Police Blotter: Man Attacked By Trio
ALSO: A woman was scammed by someone on WhatsApp, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Aug. 21 through Aug. 27.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Aug. 26: Assault (second-degree) was reported on First Avenue in Huntington Station at 3:39 p.m. Someone was standing outside of his home when he was approached by three unknown people, police said. One of the three people used a sharp metal object and cut part of the man's arm, police said.
- Aug. 26: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Oakwood Road in Huntington Station at 5:05 p.m. Somebody stole a man's wallet, and the credit card in the wallet was used later that day at 7-Eleven, police said.
- Aug. 24: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on West 10th Street in Huntington Station from Aug. 23 at noon. A woman was contacted by someone through WhatsApp, who told the woman she would be arrested if she did not wire them money, police said. The woman wired the money out of fear of being arrested, police said.
- Aug. 23: Assault (second-degree) was reported on East Pulaski Road in Huntington Station at 9:15 p.m. A man stabbed another man twice with what appeared to be a knife, police said. The stabber fled, while the other man had to be taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
- Aug. 21: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Walt Whitman Road in South Huntington from Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. A rental car was stolen from a parking lot hours after it was parked, police said.
