Huntington Police Blotter: Man Sold Cocaine, Tried To Injure Officers

The man struck an officer as they tried to arrest him, and at the precinct, he was accused of trying to injure other officers, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Oct. 30 through Nov. 5.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Kenneth Tatum, 40, of Huntington Station, sold crack cocaine four times in the Town of Huntington between Sept. 5 and Sept. 29, police said. Tatum struck an officer as they were trying to arrest him on Nov. 1, police said. While at the precinct, Tatum refused to allow the police officers to search him, and he then tried to injure the officers, police said. He was arrested and charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance: narcotic drug, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug w/ intent to sell, two counts of criminal possession of narcotics, one count of second-degree assault: intent to cause physical injury to officer, one count of second-degree obstruct governmental administration, and one count of resisting arrest on Nov. 1.
  • James Scardino, 60, who is homeless, was found to be in possession of fentanyl during a vehicle stop in Huntington Station on Nov. 1, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of narcotic drug and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Nov. 1.
