  1. Check out the most recent Huntington Police Blotter. A man was beaten up inside a tent in the woods and robbed in Halesite. A woman was scammed over the phone in this week's blotter. Clink the link for further details on all incidents reported from Jan. 9 through Jan. 15. (Huntington Patch)

  3. A second-prize $1 million lottery ticket was sold in Plainview. The New York Lottery reported that the winning ticket for the Jan. 13 drawing was sold at Shoprite, located at 1675 Old Country Road in Plainview. No one has claimed the prize and it can be redeemed up to a year from the date of the drawing. (Patch)
  4. An online building permit system goes live in Huntington. Residents will now be able to go online using new software, OpenGov, that is designed to streamline the application process. Residents seeking permits can file, review and gain approval of permits without having to go into Town Hall. (Huntington Now)
