Huntington Police Blotter: Thief Crashes Stolen Mazda
ALSO: A Cold Spring Harbor restaurant was broken into, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Aug. 14 through Aug. 20.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Aug. 20: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Woodhull Road in Huntington at 8:15 a.m. A 2021 Mazda was stolen and the thief got involved in a motor vehicle crash, police said. The driver was traveling west with the stolen Mazda at an unsafe speed when they lost control of the car and crashed in front of Crossman Place, damaging a rock wall, police said. The driver fled, police said.
- Aug. 17: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Park Avenue in Huntington from Aug. 16 at 9 a.m. Someone withdrew money from another person's account, police said.
- Aug. 14: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Harbor Road-25A in Cold Spring Harbor at 3:03 a.m. Harbor Mist Restaurant was burglarized, police said. The burglar(s) broke a window and stole money and liquor, police said.
