Huntington Police Blotter: Woman Scammed
ALSO: A Huntington home was burglarized, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Oct. 15 through Oct. 22.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Oct. 18: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Grandview Street in Huntington at 2:47 p.m. Someone claimed to be from the Department of Investigation and told a woman that her bank account had been breached, police said. The scammer told the woman to withdraw money and send gift cards to them, which she did, police said.
- Oct. 17: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Wendover Drive in Huntington at 1 a.m. Someone entered a home through a window and stole a silverware set, police said.
