Huntington School District Pays Tribute to Alumni Lost on Sept. 11
The district remembers those perished in the terror attacks.

With Thursday marking the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, Huntington School District is remembering alumni who perished on that day, as well as community members who lost loved ones.
Susan Clyne-Dietrich, Dennis Edwards, Michelle Titolo, Michael McCarthy, Joseph Anchundia and Judson Cavalier all lost their lives on Sept. 11, the district notes in a blog post. Others in the school community also lost family and friends, including a husband, brother and the daughter of a retired teacher.
The district notes, too, that there are former Huntington students who relocated and finished their education elsewhere, and also lost their lives on Sept. 11.

“The events of that day are indelibly etched in our minds,” Huntington Superintendent James W. Polansky is quoted in the district’s blog post. “It is important for us to help the next generation continue honoring the fallen and those who continue to serve our country and communities, as well as to recognize the brave and heroic acts performed by so many on that day which represent the true character and resolve of the American people.”
