Huntington Station Man Gets Maximum Sentence for Fatally Stabbing Maggie Rosales
BREAKING: The 22-year-old was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

A Huntington Station man convicted of stabbing 18-year-old Maggie Rosales to death in 2014 was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison Friday, court records show.
Adam Saalfield, 22, received the maximum amount of prison time at his sentencing. It took the jury less than two hours on Friday, Aug. 12 to convict him of second-degree murder.
State Supreme Court Justice John Collins said Saalfield had “all the characteristics of a sociopath” and his lack of showing any emotion throughout the trial was very telling of his character, according to Newsday.

Rosales, who had been attacked from behind, was wearing ear buds while listening to music, and had not heard her attacker approaching, officials said.
Saalfield was arrested on Oct. 29, 2014 and was charged with second-degree murder. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.
Authorities say they had DNA evidence from the murder scene, and part of the incident was caught on surveillance video.
Saalfield's murder trial began Monday, Aug. 1.
Rosales' death, one of four local murders in that year, prompted residents to march on town hall demanding a stop to crime in the area.
