Huntington Station Man Arrested After Fatal Hit-And-Run That Killed Pedestrian: Police
A 28-year-old Huntington Station man was charged after a pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday evening on New York Avenue.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A Huntington Station man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian Sunday evening, Suffolk County police said.
Manuel Flores, 28, of Huntington Station, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash, police said.
The victim, Bacilio Mardoqueo Vasquez Vasquez, 44, of Huntington Station, died after being struck by a vehicle on New York Avenue Sunday evening, police said.

According to police, Vasquez was walking west to east across New York Avenue, just south of West 19th Street, when he was struck by a gray Toyota SUV traveling northbound at around 5:40 p.m.
Vasquez was transported by ambulance to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators said the driver fled the scene and continued northbound on New York Avenue.
Major Case Unit detectives later arrested Flores in connection with the crash, police said.
Flores was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash and is being held at the Second Precinct, police said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Central Islip, according to police.
