Huntington Station Woman, 75, Dies After Shoveling Snow

Two elderly Suffolk County residents died outside Saturday, police said.

Two elderly Suffolk County residents died outside Saturday during the blizzard while attempting to shovel or use a snow blower, police said.

According to authorities, a 75-year-old woman was having difficulty breathing while shoveling outside her Tippen Drive home in Huntington Station at 11:15 a.m. Officers arrived and transported her to Huntington Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police also said a 94-year-old Smithtown man died after using a snow blower Saturday afternoon. Police arrived to find a neighbor giving the man CPR. A police officer took over administering CPR until the Kings Park Fire Department arrived and transported the man to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where he was pronounced dead.
