Here are some things on the agenda for the Dec. 13 Huntington Town Board meeting.

HUNTINGTON, NY — The Huntington Town Board meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 13 is set to cover traffic laws, facilities for the Dix Hills Water District, the rehabilitation of local parks, and more. Huntington Town Hall is at 100 Main Street, Huntington.

- Consider adopting a local law and amending the Town of Huntington Traffic Code regarding:
- Regency Lane in Dix Hills about prohibited turns on red signals.
- Greenlawn Road in Greenlawn about stop-and-yield intersections.
- East Deer Park Road at Villanova Lane and Arielle Court/East Deer Park Road at Regency Lane and Gables Court in Dix Hills for traffic signals.
- Schedule Huntington Town Board meetings for 2023.
- Appropriate $6,700,000 for the increase and improvement of facilities of the Dix Hills Water District, consisting of the construction and implementation of wellhead treatment improvements for Plant No. 8, at the estimated maximum cost of $6,700,000. This would include the spending of $3,000,000 in grant funds received or to be received; and authorizing $3,700,000 in bonds to pay for the rest.
- Authorize the construction and implementation of wellhead treatment improvements for Plant No. 8 in the Dix Hills Water District.
- Earmark $8,300,000 for more and improved facilities for the Dix Hills Water District, consisting of the construction and implementation of wellhead treatment improvements for Plant No. 7, at the estimated maximum cost of $8,300,000, including the spending of $5,000,000 in grant funds received or to be received; and authorizing $3,300,000 bonds to pay the rest.
- Authorize the construction and implementation of wellhead treatment improvements for Plant No. 7 in the Dix Hills Water District.
- Appropriate $2,500,000 for the replacement of water meters in the district, which would be paid for in bonds.
- Authorize Supervisor Ed Smyth to execute agreements with/for:
- Shi International Corporation and DebtBook for software and technology services.
- Designating meeting places for senior citizens of the Town of Huntington.
- Lockwood, Kessler & Bartlett, Inc. for professional engineering services for the Lakeside Drive, Centerport retaining wall.
- Allowing various youth services on behalf of the Youth Bureau for 2023.
- The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities for funding the Summer Recreation Program (Camp Bright Star) for the developmentally disabled.
- The first extension to the requirements contract with Green Velvet Tree, Inc. and Looks Great Services, Inc. for the storm debris removal equipment services contract for bid items.
- A Memorandum of Understanding with New York State, Suffolk County, and the Open Space Land Trust, Inc. regarding the potential acquisition of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception Property.
- Receive grant funding under the New York State and Municipal (SAM) Facilities Grant for the purchase of a milling machine.
- An Intermunicipal Agreement with the Town of Oyster Bay for the temporary use of sanitation trucks after six Town of Huntington garbage trucks burned in a fire.
- A Conditional Shellfish Harvesting Program Agreement with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for the Conditional Area Management Plan for outer Northport Harbor.
- Allow the transfer of funds from the Huntington Community Development Agency to the Town of Huntington Department of Parks and Recreation for the rehabilitation of Depot Road Park.
- Allow the transfer of funds from the Huntington Community Development Agency to the Town of Huntington Department of Parks and Recreation for the rehabilitation of Al Walker Park.
- Schedule a public hearing to consider acquiring certain property at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception Property with New York state and Suffolk County.
- Authorize the Town of Huntington to apply for Tree City USA designation and a Tree City USA Growth Award.
- Allow the Town of Huntington comptroller to amend the 2022 Operating and Capital Budget for the Town of Huntington and its special districts, like the Dix Hills Water District.
- Allow a deal to be done with H2M architects and engineers to provide annual engineering retainer services for the Huntington Sewer District.
- Authorize a contract for sports courts resurfacing and amenities with The LandTek Group, Inc., which was the lowest bidder.
- Allow the execution of a requirements contract for annual on-call Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) changeout for 2023 through 2025 for the Dix Hills Water District with Nichem Co. and Carbon Activated Corporation.
- Settle a lawsuit of Martin Zalewski v. Town of Huntington and Metropolitan Transit Authority – Long Island Railroad, and allow the comptroller to amend the budget.
- Establish rates for the rental or hiring of highway machinery and equipment for the removal of snow by the Huntington Highway Department.
- Adopt a law that would expand the Sammis Street Historic District to include other parcels and be renamed to the South Village Historic District.
- Allow the comptroller to amend the 2022 Operating and Capital Budget for the Town of Huntington and its special districts.
