HUNTINGTON, NY — Danny Rocca has spent much of his 23 years on Earth in pizzerias. Ever since his grandfather got his start as a dishwasher at a pizzeria and eventually owned the building, the art of dough, sauce, and cheese has been woven into the lifeblood of the Rocca family.

It's fitting that Rocca now owns his own business: Dough & Co. Pizza in Huntington.

The young pizzamaker wanted to give people a feeling that was rustic while simultaneously young and hip. He kept a visual in mind while he was building out the eatery:

"You're coming off a boat on Ellis Island, there's a pizzeria shop. All the ingredients are imported, and it's tasty. It's New York, you know?" Rocca told Patch.

Rocca also wanted his pizzeria to represent himself.
