HUNTINGTON, NY — The Huntington Public Library has several upcoming events in the first half of November and beyond.

Event: Breathing & Meditation with Danielle Tarantola
Location: Main Auditorium
Date: Wednesdays, Nov. 9, 16, 23, 30; Dec. 7, 14, 21, 28 • 8 sessions • $40
Time: 9:15 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Description: Inner peace is very close. It's hiding right inside you. This is the premise of Yoga, and this class will highlight the breathing and meditation practices geared toward unlocking its door. The mind can be both the source and solution for suffering, and we will cultivate it as a solution. Both beginner and advanced students will benefit from learning the time-tested breathing and meditation techniques conceived to take the edge off the holiday season and support the discovery of a lighter and more empowered version of you. Registration required.

Event: Veterans Day Appreciation Jars
Location: Main Auditorium
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 9
Time: 7 p.m.
Description: Join Theresa Maritato in designing Veterans Appreciation Jars using paper, ribbon, and more. Add a special message of appreciation to the jar to show your gratitude and thank a veteran for their service. Jars will be donated to local veterans for Veterans Day! Registration required.

Event: At The Dawn of a New Age: Early Twentieth Century Modern Americanism at The Whitney
Location: Zoom
Date: Nov. 7
Time: Monday, 7 p.m.
Description: The Whitney’s selection of paintings and sculptures from 1900-1930 highlights the American response to European Modernism. The exhibition includes well-known modernists, Georgia O’Keeffe and Marsden Hartley, as well as groundbreaking artists who were overlooked. We will look at the works in the collection and their influences. Registration required.

Event: March of the Wooden Soldiers Film Screening & Lecture
Location: Main Auditorium
Date: Thursday, Nov. 10
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Description: Join film historian Larry Wolff for a lecture and film screening of Babes in Toyland, also known as March of the Wooden Soldiers. Learn the backstory to the making of this classic holiday film and a colorized version of the film will then be screened. A book, memorabilia, and autograph display will be included! Registration required.

Event: Pure Joy with Paige Patterson
Location: Main Auditorium
Date: Sunday, Nov. 13
Time: 2:30 p.m.
Description: Join Huntington's own female crooner, Paige Patterson for a Sunday afternoon concert. Pure Joy will revive one's memory of a bygone era, and restore one's faith in the power of the music. If you like Sinatra, Ella, Santana, The Beatles, and Michael Bublé, then this program is for you! Miss Patterson is a 2021 NYSCA Grant recipient of The Huntington Arts Council. Registration required.
