Kelly, Kyle, Kevin, Kate: Huntington Pets Of The Week
Meet the "K Kittens." Three of them are from a neighborhood feeder. Would you like to adopt one or two?

HUNTINGTON, NY — Four "mix and match" kittens from two different locations are the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter's Huntington Pets of the Week.
The "K Kittens," Kelly, Kyle, Kevin, and Kate, are looking for homes.
Three of them are from a friendly neighborhood feeder where there are still a few kittens and adults left to trap, said Debbie Larkin, president of the shelter.

"Since they all came from the same backyard we are hoping they are from the same momma but not 100% sure, but these kittens all adore one another so they seem to have made the best of the
situation," Larkin said.
The last kitten, Kate the torti, comes from a completely different neighborhood, but she has made herself right at home with her foster family, according to Larkin.

All four of the kittens are approximately 9 weeks old.
Kelly, part of another litter, was rescued by a trapper with her two siblings about a month ago. Her siblings were taken in by another rescue, but she was left behind.
"Maybe they didn’t like her crazy coloring? Who knows," Larkin said. "She is very sweet and very soft with striking white fur in the midst of her torti coloring. She jumps in your lap whenever she wants to be the object of your affection. She is very bright and very playful."
Kyle, a black kitten with gray undertones, enjoys playing with his siblings and finding the perfect patch of sunshine for his afternoon nap, Larkin said. He is very gentle, even when rolling all over the floor with his brother or one of his sisters. He loves to be held and petted, especially when falling asleep. The tufts of fur emanating from his ears and super soft longer fur are reminiscent of a Maine Coon.
Kevin is a tabby/tiger with white fur all over his body.
"He is the 'big' boy in the group," Larkin said. "He is very handsome and devoted to Kate’s safety and comfort. He loves to play and run especially with the bouncy balls. He also loves chasing his siblings through the tunnels that his foster parents have set up in their room. Kevin is a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he gets over that quickly. You will think that the two of you know one another for a lifetime!"
Kate is the light gray tiger car. She is most affectionate, Larkin said. She loves to be wrapped up in a blanket and cuddle with people. She plays non-stop with her siblings and has absolutely no fear, even though she is the smallest of all four. She insists on sleeping with her brother, Kevin, and looks for him at nap time and bed time. The feeling is mutual.
"All four kittens have been partially vetted by our in-house vet, Dr. Rob," Larkin said.
They have all tested negative for FELV and FIV, have been wormed, checked for fleas, received the first of three FVRCP vaccination, are litter box trained and all will be spayed or neutered the
last week of August.
If you are interested in meeting any of the four, you may call the shelter at 631-757-4517, email cats@laphuntington.org, visit the Facebook page or visit at the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter.
The rescue is at 3 Verleye Ave., East Northport, and visiting hours are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
The shelter will be open on Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. by appointment only. These additional hours are for those who want to visit but are working and cannot make it during the daytime hours or on the weekend.
"All of these kittens would bring so much joy to your life if you would only give them a chance," Larkin said. "Won’t you take that first step?"
