Long Island organizations of all sizes can benefit from the Fair Media Council's Virtual Summer Boot Camp, a 3.5 hour webinar that shows you how to master Long Island's media landscape to get news coverage and help you rebuild your business amid COVID19.

The webinar features editors from Newsday, Long Island Business News and Patch.com, explaining the various ways you can take advantage of what they offer to help raise your brand's profile in the marketplace. Additionally, you will learn how to create a multimedia press kit for your website, and get expert tips on how to appear on camera -- an issue growing in importance as more interviews take place via Zoom.

Speakers include: Newsday Assistant Managing Editor Don Hudson, Long Island Business News Co-Publisher Ali Jabbour with reporter Adina Genn and events manager Jenna Natale, Patch.com's Hudson Valley & Long Island Editor Ryan Bonner, media trainer and former Inside Edition correspondent Stacey Sweet and Prof. Jeffrey S. Morosoff, chair of the Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations at Hofstra University.

"This year's boot camp was designed to help Long Islanders hit the ground running in terms of marketing and promoting their businesses," said Fair Media Council CEO & Executive Director Jaci Clement. "Our media outlets are always evolving, so to get the inside scoop on what's happening at Newsday, LIBN and Patch is invaluable, as are the tips and advice to gain news coverage and appear like a pro."

A summer tradition for more than a decade, boot camp turned into a virtual event for the first time this year to comply with health and safety practices related to COVID19.
