LONG ISLAND, NY — The Huntington's Disease Society of America's New York/New Jersey Region is scheduled to host the Long Island Virtual Team Hope Walk on Sept. 13. Team Hope is HDSA’s largest national grassroots fundraising event, as thousands of families, friends, co-workers, neighbors and communities walk together each year to support HDSA's fight to improve the lives of people and families affected by Huntington's disease, according to a news release.

"A virtual walk is a real walk, but on your terms: You get to choose your own course, you can walk in your driveway, neighborhood, in your house and even on treadmill!," the release states.

The event is slated to run from 9 a.m. to noon. All donations go to HDSA. Virtual walkers who raise $100 or more will be mailed a Team Hope t-shirt following the event.
