SUNY Farmingdale Opens New Solar Energy Center

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) continues to be a strong supporter of solar energy on Long Island.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) was recently a guest speaker at SUNY Farmingdale’s ribbon cutting for their new Solar Energy Center. The center, which is the first “Training Institute” and “Continuing Education Institute” in the Northeast and the fourth in the nation, will provide training in installation for college students, and initiate research projects to help students get a better understanding of solar energy.

“SUNY Farmingdale’s commitment to teaching students the ins and outs of installing solar energy sources will benefit everyone on Long Island,” said Lupinacci, who is a professor at the college. “I often encourage my students to consider the various careers in the green energy field, because it is an important, expanding field in our economy and society.”
