Lupinacci Continues Push for Legalizing MMA in New York
Lupinacci was joined today by former UFC Champion and Long Island native Chris Weidman in Albany.

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) was joined today by former UFC Champion and Long Island native Chris Weidman in Albany to push lawmakers to legalize Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in New York State.
“Several elite MMA athletes were born and raised in New York State. It’s a shame that UFC Champion Chris Weidman, who is my constituent, hasn’t been able to perform in front of a home crowd,” said Lupinacci. “New York is the only state in the nation that hasn’t legalized MMA. We’re missing out on millions of dollars in revenue. With some of the nation’s most prestigious sporting venues right here in New York, there is no question, with the appropriate rules and regulations, we can provide safe and entertaining events for thousands of MMA fans.”
