LUPINACCI: GOV'S 'UNILATERAL' MINIMUM WAGE HIKE BYPASSES 'DEMOCRATIC PROCESS'

Lupinacci criticized Gov. Andrew Cuomo for using executive authority to increase the hourly wage for state workers to $15 per hour.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R, C, I-South Huntington) today criticized Gov. Andrew Cuomo for using executive authority to increase the hourly wage for state workers to $15 per hour.

“An issue that will have such a large impact deserves to be discussed and debated by the entire State Legislature,” said Lupinacci. “Governor Cuomo’s decision to bypass the democratic process and unilaterally create policy without input from the Assembly and Senate is very troubling and does not set a good precedent as we prepare for the 2016 Legislative Session.”
