LUPINACCI HONORS FARMINGDALE PRESIDENT, DR. KEEN

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently presented retiring president Dr. W. Hubert Keen of Farmingdale State College with a proclamation honoring his great service to Farmingdale State College and the Long Island Community. Dr. Keen served two years as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs before becoming President of Farmingdale State College in January 2007. Under Dr. Keen’s leadership, Farmingdale’s enrollment grew by more than 8,700 students and various academic programs were expanded. The campus also embarked on a $185 million construction and renovation project with new buildings including a Campus Center, a new Children’s Center and a new School of Business.
“Dr. Keen’s career is a testament of true commitment to public service. Since 2007, he has been a champion for the students of Farmingdale State College,” said Lupinacci. “During his tenure, Farmingdale has cemented itself as one of the premier public colleges in the northern region of the United States. Farmingdale State College has been impacted by Dr. Keen’s devotion in every way, and I am honored to call him a friend and colleague.

“Though this may be the conclusion of Dr. Keen’s tenure at Farmingdale, I am certain that he will remain active in the higher education community. Thank you Dr. Keen for your dedication to Farmingdale State College, its students and the surrounding community,” Lupinacci said.
