Lupinacci Joins 'Miles For Michael' 5K

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently joined the Annual ‘Miles for Michael’ 5k Fun Run held in South Huntington. The fundraising run, founded by Sheila Buhse, was created in memory of her nephew who unfortunately passed due to cancer. Sheila was able to turn this tragedy into a positive in founding the ‘Miles for Michael’ 5k, which is used to bring the community together and raise money for student programs around the community.

“The ability of Sheila to turn a tragedy in her life into a positive is a testament to the strength that exists in the people of our Huntington community,” said Lupinacci. “While this run was born out of loss, it has given back to so many young people and improved their lives. I hope participation in this run will continue to grow each year and am thankful for the opportunity to participate in its festivities.”
