LUPINACCI SHARES POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE WITH LOCAL COLLEGE STUDENTS
Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C, I – South Huntington) welcomed students from St. Joseph's College to his District Office.

On Friday, Assemblyman and Ranking Member on the Higher Education Committee Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C, I – South Huntington) welcomed students from St. Joseph’s College to his District Office, located on New York Avenue in Huntington. A longtime professor at Hofstra University, SUNY Farmingdale and Saint Joseph’s College, Lupinacci invited students from his State and Local Government course to tour, and learn on-site about the New York State Assembly.
“I have always preached the value of hands-on learning,” said Lupinacci, a vocal supporter of student internship experience and targeted learning approaches. “I think that experiences such as these will not only serve as a tremendous educational experience, but also stimulate their interest in state and local government for the future.”
While in the office, the students also spoke to staff members who further discussed the dynamic of a government office environment. “The students asked my staff members great questions about their role in my office. They were intrigued by my constituent outreach directives such as my upcoming ‘Woman of Distinction’ event on June 20,” said Lupinacci.

Lupinacci stimulated the lesson with further discussion in a “Press Conference” forum. The assemblyman took questions about current issues facing New York State. “These students stimulated incredible conversation, asking questions and sharing perspectives about issues of importance to them. These students are truly spectacular and I am privileged to have such an engaged and motivated State and Local Politics class at Saint Joseph’s College.”
