LUPINACCI SIGNS ON TO LEGISLATION TO KEEP NYS CHILDREN SAFER
Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) signs on to legislation to keep NYS children safe.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently signed on as a co-sponsor to legislation that prohibits levels one, two and three sex offenders from living within 1,000 feet of any school in New York State.
“Public safety has been a top priority of mine and I look forward to making schools and communities safer by supporting this legislation. There is no place for sex offenders of any level to be living anywhere near where parents send their sons and daughters to learn each day,” said Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci.
The legislation (A.547/S.2269) has already passed in the Senate but has been held up by the Assembly Majority in the Committee on Corrections. Lupinacci and his fellow Assembly Minority Conference members have backed several bills that would create stricter penalties for sex offenders, and supported Megan’s Law, which created a sex offender registry in New York State.

“I will continue to fight to keep our communities safe and our children out of harms way. I will urge my colleagues in the Assembly to pass this legislation so parents can rest with ease knowing their children are safer while at school,” concluded Assemblyman Lupinacci.
