LUPINACCI TEAMS WITH VOLUNTEERS TO BRING PROM DRESSES TO THOUSANDS

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) is looking to provide prom dresses for high school students across Long Island.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) announced he will be joining the efforts of Charles M. Prokop Jr., owner of Princess Bridals of Huntington Village, to provide prom dresses for high school students across Long Island.

“This volunteer effort proves that Long Island is home to some of the most thoughtful and genuine people in New York State. The 21st Annual Prom Boutique is just another example of our community coming together to lend a helping hand to those in need,” said Lupinacci.

The Prom Gown Assistance Program is collecting new and lightly-used prom dresses, bridesmaids’ dresses, evening dresses, shoes, handbags and jewelry for the 21st Annual Prom Boutique. Dresses and accessories are free of charge for girls who cannot absorb the high costs of gowns and dresses for award ceremonies and graduations.

“Over the years, these organizations have provided formal wear to over 1,800 girls from 71 different schools across Long Island. I think, with the joint effort of the Villanova University Alumni Association, the Long Island Volunteer Center, high school guidance counselors, at-risk youth agencies, group homes, and church outreaches, we can expect another great turnout this year,” concluded Lupinacci.

Donations will be accepted on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s High School, 275 Wolf Hill Road, South Huntington.
